The tracing of (digital) images of sexual abuse of children and of the adults committing the abuse, is a police task. Identification of the victims has been given the highest priority. International cooperation is of main importance because it is not possible to trace down the origins of victim and abuser on the basis of the images only.
Since the start of the Dutch Hotline there has been a close cooperation between this foundation and the police. Meetings occur on a regular basis. The Dutch police investigate, every report the Dutch Hotline sends. Suspects can be convicted and, where possible current abuse situations are stopped.
